Operating in the heart of Europe to strengthen innovation in digital agriculture
Innovators in Central Europe’s agri-food sector come from a variety of backgrounds: they include farmers, researchers, startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, advisors, and many more. The mission of the regional cluster (RC) Central Europe is to map these actors and establish links between them in order to facilitate synergies within and beyond the region, thereby enabling the digitisation of the agri-food sector.
Accordingly, the RC supports different actors in finding innovative partners in the field of digital architecture by using the SmartAgriHubs (SAH) network. Furthermore, it provides supportive measures such as the tracking down of public and private funding opportunities, as well as the coordination of new innovation experiments (IEs) within the wider SAH network. The RC achieves this by connecting local Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs), with Competence Centres (CCs), and IEs, thereby establishing an ecosystem capable of interacting with other ecosystems across Europe.
Central Europe offers a distinguished pallet of digital innovators and agri-food businesses. The RC capitalises on this asset by building a comprehensive ecosystem of actors, allowing new ideas to flourish to help find solutions for the agri-food sector.
